Perspective

When I mess something up, generally only a few people know about it.
When Barack Obama messes up the oath of office, pretty much the entire civilized world sees it on live TV.
So in the big picture, I guess my goofs aren’t really all that important. And hopefully any further mistakes from either of us will be just as inconsequential and just as quickly forgotten.

  1. Nope, he didn’t mess it up. The Chief Justice did! Barack stopped to let him fix it but it still got messed up in the end. That darned word “faithfully” was in the wrong order. That’s why when I swear in our Jaycee board members, I only say about 4 words at a time so no one messes up. The Chief Justice gave them a whole sentence. I’m surprised he didn’t mess Biden up with that too.

  2. I didn’t catch the transposition. I’ll agree though, a do over wouldn’t hurt. The last thing we need is folks spending the next four years arguing over whether GWB is still President. There are other, far more important priorities.
The error I noticed was that Obama started repeating the first sentence before Justice Roberts finished it. Then he restarted and had to be reminded of the rest of the words.
In the end, it’s completely inconsequential and nothing anyone should obsess over. I need to keep that in mind with my own flubs.
