Walking through the local Targêt last night, I came across this rather odd item in the Pet Care section.
Gates like that are a great way to keep a pet (well, a dog anyhow) from leaving or entering the room. Nothing too exciting there.
But what’s with the pet door in the pet gate? Doesn’t that kind of defeat the purpose?

An obvious bachelor question. You should have hung around my place more about 15 years ago.
I suspect it’s a toddler gate, with a doggie door so Rover can escape dear little Johnnie’s attentions. 🙂
Sure, I’ve seen gates like that too. But why would a toddler gate be in the Pet Care section?
Come to think of it though…. I do recall that a couple of my nieces seem to enjoy playing inside the dog crate at my parents’ house. And I’ve more than once seen parents at the mall and such with a toddler on a leash.
Interesting perspective there Sue. Makes me wonder what they might have in the children’s department.
