AFI Top 100 U.S. Films

I don’t often play along with the memes (If everyone’s posting the same stuff, how can it be interesting?) but just this once, why not? (This is clearly DDMD’s fault.)
I’m somewhat surprised at how many of these I’ve seen. Friends may be surprised at how many of the ones I’ve seen are not Science Fiction.
The idea is to bold the ones you’ve seen. I think I have some ideas for more movies to watch. 🙂

  1. I’ve seen 27 of them — 29 or 30 if you count movies that didn’t hold my interest the whole way through — but only two in the top 10. I guess you’re more film literate than I.
In any event, you also saw “Dr. Strangelove” several years when we were at Mom and Dad’s. It was a B&W movie we got to see for free on a pay channel, as part of a promotion of all the cable provider had to offer. (Which still isn’t much.)

  2. I do recall seeing it, but my memory is that I saw even less of that than “A Streetcar Named Desire.” And I’m not sure I even watched half of that one before I dozed off.
As far as “…all the cable provider had to offer” not amounting to much. (shrug) Some of my main reasons for not watching TV include the words, “Reality TV.”
