1. I’m almost afraid to ask: what were you doing with peppermint oil at that hour?

2. Getting ready for bed actually. It turns out that Tom’s of Maine uses peppermint oil for flavor and fresh breath. (Giving it some more thought, it’s possible that the real culprit was the menthol and not the peppermint oil after all.)

3. Don’t rub your nose after chopping up jalapenos either.

4. Oh yeah, I know all about that one. (Terry likes to eat chili peppers and then rub her beak near my eyes.)

5. Let me also advise:
   1) Do not pick your nose after chopping a jalapeño
   2) Do not touch habanero sauce, nor anything that contains habanero sauce, when you have cold cracks on your fingertips.
   Not that I have ever done either one.

6. The same goes for Tiger Balm or Ben Gay or any of those sports creams. Youch!
