It’s sorta like that whole “Look before you leap” thing. Sometimes I forget about that one too.
You should have certainly learned that by now – between the Jaycees and your other activities!
The great thinker Calvin once said something applicable to this sort of thing: Remember, we don’t want to learn anything from this experience!

According to Treacy, in the military that rule is called “Never Volunteer”.

I believe that in some circles, the branch of the military Treacy formerly served in sometimes called “Never Again Volunteer Yourself.”
